Episode 131: Reclaiming Holistic Wisdom Through Embodiment and Clarification with Sadie Adams
What do you do when you’ve tried all of the conventional and holistic strategies but yet your health issues haven’t completely been resolved? Sometimes deep inner work is required, especially if you’re struggling with Adrenal Fatigue and burnout. But if you’re someone who just can’t slow down, what’s the likelihood of you taking the time to explore this inner work?
Quarantine life has given me the time to do this inner work that quite frankly, I may have never done otherwise, and some of that inner work has been done with the help of my dear friend and returning guest, Sadie Adams. Sadie joined me in Episode 117 where we talked about nurturing natural beauty through calm presence & authentic self-expression.
In this episode, Sadie returns to the show sharing insights and wisdom on how to reclaim holistic wisdom. Sadie draws from her vast education, wisdom, and her many gifts to help people self-heal with:
Repatterning
Embodiment
Integrating the body, mind, and spirit
Using modalities like breathwork, meditation, and movement, she helps people come back into their bodies to reclaim their presence, choices, and freedom.
You’ll hear how she’s helping me:
Repattern and release a “need to / have to” mindset which in turn helps me with relaxation, tapping into my parasympathetic system to ultimately help me sleep better
Relieve aches and pains in my body using breathwork and active movement
Address long unresolved pain from past running injuries that I’ve battled for over a decade
Her work is unlike anything I’ve experienced before, and if you’re someone who’s made the diet and lifestyle changes but your issues haven’t fully resolved, then I urge you to consider exploring the deep kind of interwork that Sadie offers to help you along your healing journey.
Episode 130: Finding Ease & Alignment Through Human Design with Victoria Jane
I believe that a significant part of being healthy is feeling at-ease, free of tension, and living in alignment with who are. Human Design is a powerful tool that can help us reconnect with our true selves.
Joining me to introduce the concept of Human Design is Victoria Jane.
Victoria is a Human Design Reader and Coach. Her mission is to guide growth-oriented folks to use Human Design to live vibrantly - with less hustle and more flow.
After a decade in Silicon Valley achieving everything she thought she was “supposed to” - a coveted career, great salary, and all the free snacks, she was forced to face the harsh reality that she was also exhausted, burnt out, and in danger of doing irreparable damage to her health.
As she searched for how to heal not just her body, but also her spirit, she discovered Human Design. Learning her unique design changed her life. It helped her reconnect back into living in alignment with her energy and intuition, giving her permission to let go of the “shoulds” and start living for herself.
In this episode you’ll hear us discuss:
What is Human Design
The 5 Energy Types of Human Design
How Human Design can enhance your work, relationships, and virtually every aspect of your life
I also share how learning about my Human Design profile as a Projector has shifted my mindset and how I show up in the world.
Episode 126: How Canine Companionship Can Have A Pawsitive Influence On Your Health & Wellness with Samantha Vaccaro
At the time of recording, I’m on Day 43 of sheltering-in-place solo, and I think by now we can all attest to how important social connections are to our health and wellness. For some of us, its even more important than a healthy diet, exercising or even sleep!
The only thing keeping me company is my puppy girl, Coco Pop! I am so grateful to have her with me because this experience would have been so lonely without her and I know many of you feel the same way about your pets as well.
Joining me today is Samantha Vaccaro. She’s a public health professional but she’s also known as Poppy the Doodle’s mom. We’re both crazy dog mom’s who have Instagram accounts for our doodles, Coco Pop and Poppy, and that’s how we connected.
In this episode you’ll hear us chat about:
How we’re each sheltering in place solo and how our puppy girls are helping us through it
How having a canine companion can teach us, humans, how to have structure, routines, and boundaries, which are pretty vital to our health
How our pups help us maintain social connections, especially as adults when its so harder to meet people and make new friendships
Episode 117: Nurturing Natural Beauty, Calm Presence & Authentic Self-Expression with Sadie Adams of Take Care
In this episode of The Live FAB Life Podcast, I’m joined by Sadie Adams, the Proprietress of Take Care, a spa with locations in New York City and in the Venice Beach area of Los Angeles where a collective of practitioners explore conversations of beauty and health, authenticity, and self-expression.
You’ll hear Sadie share:
How she started her career studying Ayurveda and teaching yoga
How she became an esthetician
What is microcurrent and the origins of it
How she cultivates relationships with her clients by working with intention to explore the schism between where their motor actions are, and how they can integrate their intentions closer to their motor actions and become more integrated beings.
Episode 116: On Productivity, Mindset and Daring to Grow with Sarah Morgan
Joining me in Episode 116 is Sarah Morgan of xosarah.com. Sarah is an Emmy-Award winning digital strategist who’s been blogging and building websites since age 13.
After escaping her corporate design job, she made it her mission to help business owners grow their online presence without overwhelm + indecision slowing them down.
In this episode, Sarah tells her story of how she escaped her corporate job as a graphic designer in a newsroom by doing freelance work and eventually building a thriving business where she now helps other business owners grow their online presence without overwhelm and indecision slowing them down.
You’ll hear Sarah share:
Her route from a corporate job to profitable solopreneur
How she battled burnout and feeling disconnected to her work
What it was like working with a coach then bringing mindfulness into her business and personal life
Her best productivity tips and what her daily routine is like to manage her time and energy
She even shares a bit of what it was like teaching aerial silk and how it helped her find a balance between her mind, body, and work!
Episode 115: What Would You Do If You Weren’t Afraid?
What would you do if you weren’t afraid?
As women, we spend so much time living in fear. Fear of the unknown, fear of being judged and of what others might think, fear of not having or being enough, fear of failure.
But what could happen if we release those fears? What’s possible for you, if you weren’t afraid? What would you do? How far would you let yourself dream?
In this episode I explore:
How living in fear holds us back and limits us from reaching our potential
What happens if we don’t release our fears
What’s possible if, instead of giving what we fear power over us, we let our drive to pursue our dreams outweigh it
And I even share a personal story and my best tips of how to work through fear and stop being afraid.
Episode 114: The Reality of Burnout (and What To Do About It)
If I were, to sum up, the last year, it would be “the year of burnout.” During that time, I’ve come to surmise that burnout is simply the misappropriation of energy and time.
In this episode, I take you behind the scenes and share with you what burnout looked like for me - the bad and ugly parts of it (hint: it’s probably not much different what it looks like for you), what steps I took to bring myself out of it and what lessons I took away from the experience.
Episode 109: Using Qi Gong to Create A Sustainable Practice of Self-Care with Dr. Kate DeVarney
In this episode, I’m joined by Dr. Kate DeVarney, a Neuroscientist, Holistic Wellness Coach, and Qigong teacher. You’ll hear Kate share:
What Qi Gong is and the different kinds of Qi Gong practices
How she was introduced to Qi Gong during treatment for breast cancer and the difference its made in her healing
How her daily practice of Qi Gong helps her in managing the daily pressures in her full-time corporate job
And she even walks us through her step-by-step practice of it
In Kate’s words: “The incredible practice of Qigong, together with important lifestyle changes, and the support I received through creating a healing community, helped me transform my stress, pain, and trauma into a sense of peace, healing, and renewed energy. I discovered the strength and the life-changing tools I needed to finish treatment, thrive, and create a life I truly love.”
Now, Kate’s mission is to coach other women living with cancer in this powerful, comprehensive system of self-care, that teaches how to integrate simple, mind and body practices into a sustainable self-healing lifestyle.
Episode 106: Marrying Macros with Mindful Eating with Katie Garces
If you’ve ever tried macros eating and/or mindful, intuitive eating, then you know that these two approaches are on opposite ends of the spectrum. And to most of us, they don’t typically go together.
That is unless you’re Katie Garces.
Katie is a Nurse Practitioner and Certified Nutritional Therapy Practitioner who focuses on a “real foods framework” to maximize health. Katie blends her professional background in traditional healthcare, wellness, and nutrition, with her passion for the healing power of spiritual wholeness to provide customized advice and life balance solutions for women.
She also believes that macros and mindful eating can be blended together and offers this service in her practice.
In this episode, we examine how she brings these two vastly different approaches together simply and sensibly. We discuss how slight tweaks to your macros can have profound effects and the role and impact that body wisdom, curiosity, and even nutrient density can play.
